Art by Jo Maynard

Happy New Year and Welcome to my website. My name is Jo and I specialise in creating realistic artworks of wildlife, pets or any other subject. Please check out my galleries below to see my past and current work, and please do get in touch if you have any questions at all.

I have been drawing and painting for fun all my life, and now that I have retired from a long athletic career I have dedicated my time to building my art career.

I have four pets of my own, two dogs, a rabbit and a hamster, so I understand how special they are, and how important it is to have a portrait that truly captures their unique personality. Please browse my gallery of pet portraits that I have had the privilege to create for my clients and do contact me if you have any questions at all.

A step-by-step breakdown of the commissioning process can be found here. It couldn't be easier to commission the perfect artwork for yourself or your loved one.

I adore all animals, and have been enthralled by wildlife for as long as I can remember. Please take a look at my gallery of wildlife art. All pieces are for sale and a percentage of your payment will be donated to the charity indicated in the description of the piece. It distresses me greatly that so much of our wildlife is suffering at the hands of the human race, and I have made it my mission to do what I can, through the sale and donation of my work, to support charities that fight against poaching, habitat loss and the capture, imprisonment and torture of wild animals.

I reject and abhore all abuse of animals, from the killing of 55 elephants a day who are poached for their tusks, to the slaughter of over 100 million sharks per year for shark fin soup and as victims of the fishing industry, and the use of animals in circuses, zoos and aquariums. If you work for an animal charity that you think would benefit from an artwork donation please contact me.
